So I opened my mind and started studying other religious scriptures to see what they said about attaining heaven.

I was confused. How can one GOD say so many different things? I decided to follow only the similarities, which were, pray often, meditate, do good deeds, be a good human being etc. I got into spirituality, new age, occultism, astrology etc. and I prided myself on being a good human being, with strong will power.

There came a point in my life, where I had to question myself as to how good do I need to be to go to heaven. I still had the tendency to commit sins, make excuses for it and enjoy the pleasure of it, just like everyone else. The very sins I could not stand seeing others do, I was doing myself. I realized then no matter how good a human being I thought I was and claimed to be, I was a despicable sinner and the biggest hypocrite. I tried all my efforts to live righteously on my own, but could not. Then finally I turned to GOD and repented and asked him to save me, as I knew I was never going to heaven trying to be a good human being, as I had a sinful nature within me, which made me a slave to sin. I consciously invited Jesus Christ into my life to be my Lord, Master and Saviour. I became a Born Again in Christ (John3: 3-7) and that was the beginning of a new journey with GOD.

Looking back I can see how HE has made me a new creature gradually transforming me into the person HE wants me to be. HE put a desire in my heart to study HIS Word in the Bible and to obey It. As a result, I departed from certain belief systems, rituals, idolatry and anything else not in line with HIS Word. HE is still teaching me and I am enjoying the journey to heaven of which I am assured, as long as I cling to HIM.

The biggest realization I have is that every person has a sinful nature within him and no religion or rituals or prayers or meditations or yoga or good deeds or so called gods can save them. Only Jesus Christ can, if they choose HIM to be their personal Lord and Saviour and choose to obey HIS Word. GOD is not interested in which religion you follow but HE wants and longs for an intimate relationship with you, through HIS Son, because only HIS Son can liberate us from Satan’s bondage and brings us under HIS righteousness. Jesus Christ is absolutely right when He says, “I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND LIFE. NO ONE CAN COME TO GOD BUT THROUGH ME.” (John 14:6). Only with HIM in your heart and life, can you fulfill the two biggest commandments, which fulfills the whole law.. ie. Love the LORD your GOD with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. This is Eternal Life… to know and abide in the One True GOD and HIS Son Jesus Christ (1 John 5: 20). Unless you are spiritually born again of Water and Spirit , you cannot enter the Kingdom of GOD, which is not seen, but believed into (John 3: 3-5). To allow HIS love to manifest in every thought, word, deed and action, is the secret to live this present life.

Before saying anything in your mind if you do not believe HE is the only way to GOD, let me tell you, you will never know and understand HIS transforming power to be saved.. unless you humble yourself and realize you are a sinner, and that nothing and no one can save you from your sins and the bondage you are in, except for HIM.. unless you truly repent never to walk that way again.. unless you believe in your heart and confess with your lips that HE died in your place and rose again to save you.. unless you call on Jesus’ name to save you.. unless you yield to and obey HIS Holy Spirit HE sends you, enduring in the faith till the end, thus becoming an over comer.
